Kitchen Renovation with Island Top Reduced From Barstool Height to Counter Top Height
This kitchen underwent an amazing transformation. The range top wall had large towering cabinets that were confining the cook top.
The Island was three tiers high, had limited work space and poor vision of the bar level counter top across from the work area.
This entire design was not user friendly.
The first solution was to remove all the upper cabinets on the range top wall and install two floating cabinets with a wooden hood between them.
The two floating cabinets and the range hood were ordered new and unpainted. Beautiful multi-patterned glass was ordered for the doors.
The entire wall was tiled to the ceiling.
The second solution was to cut the island down to counter top height allowing
for more work space and a comfortable friendly counter height stool area for easy communication.
A farm sink was installed in place of the existing under mount sink.
*The existing cabinet sink doors were cut down and reworked to accommodate the new farm sink and match existing kitchen cabinet doors.
Corbels were added to the ranged hood and around the island to enhance the new design.
New granite was installed in the entire kitchen.
This entire renovation was finished with a custom paint, distress and glaze job on
the range hood, two floating cabinets, lower range cabinets and entire island.
